“After a career in publishing, I am opinionated and picky about print design. Dana has helped me craft our brand look over the last five years, and she has been fantastic to work with from the beginning. She is a dream collaborator—she understands our organization and the impact I’m after, and uses her knowledge and skills to get there. Dana Is smart about marketing and willing to explain her thinking so that my understanding grows, and she also responds well to feedback and adjustments. She’s clear and direct about schedules and timelines and willing to help in a pinch when she can. I’m only hesitant to recommend Dana because I don’t want her to be too busy for us!”
Everybody Wins! Vermont is bringing new meaning to the “power lunch.” Once a week, children and their adult mentors read aloud together for an hour at lunch at over 20 school sites, coordinated by the literacy mentoring organization. Hearing stories read by a caring adult helps children become better readers — and also improves their confidence, social skills, and connection to the community. Everybody Wins! Vermont facilitates that connection by carefully pairing mentors with children and providing screening, training, and guidance for mentors — and throwing lots of community events to celebrate books and reading!
A book-loving organization takes its print materials seriously. I work with executive director Beth Wallace to craft bookmarks for mentees, thank-you cards and a how-to handbook for mentors, annual appeals and sponsorship packets for potential donors, and flyers for fundraisers, read-a-thons, and school reading sites. Everybody Wins! Vermont’s clean, playful, classic, literary aesthetic runs consistently through the materials Beth and I create, giving the organization a stable, professional look — and hopefully inspiring more adults to change a child’s life through the power of reading.
