Kellogg-Hubbard Library & PoemCity Montpelier

The Kellogg-Hubbard Library has been connecting central Vermonters with books — and each other —since 1894.

The elegant exterior of the classical granite building in downtown Montpelier belies the vibrancy of the events that take place inside and around the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Rachel and the staff of the library plan and host close to 600 outreach events each year, drawing over 10,000 participants. I am lucky to work with Rachel on one of the biggest events: PoemCity Montpelier. It’s my job to lay out over 500 poems on broadsides, ready for display in downtown storefronts through the month of April, as well as design the events guide and other supporting materials. Another part of Rachel’s job is raising money for the library. I am pleased to give her a hand by designing the library’s annual report, as well as posters and a program for the Evening at the Library fundraising party and author celebration.
